Today's talk was: Transformation, given at Bordi on January 27th 1980. Some interesting points

Enjoying the flow of Kundalini energy is not sufficient, but it has to transform us

Kundalini energy has to enter our chakras and be retained for their blossoming and becoming fragrant. Only then can the fragrance can be passed on to others.

The depth of our love is to be developed.

We have to see how deep is our love through the detached performance of our duties as parents, spouses etc. in a nice way.

Lack of transformation within us should cause concern, lack of enlightenment in people around us should cause anxiety for their salvation.

Manas power arises in the left and goes to the right. Ahamkara (ego) arises from the right and goes leftwards. In the middle lies pure intelligence, Buddhi. Balanced thoughts arise from buddhi. But overuse of or excessive flow of Manas or Ahamkara silences the Buddhi. That's when our thoughts from pure intelligence are replaced by Ego/Superego thoughts.

In the end we gave bandhan for Iranian yogi Kavoos in Canada who is facing unfair deportation, and on hunger strike. Latest news and updates here: kavoos.org

We are listening to this amazing talk this morning and tomorrow which is on the commemorative CD given at the Vishumaya Seminar in Niagara Falls earlier this year. Today we heard the talk portion. The next part consists of a guided meditation, which will be broadcast tomorrow, December 6th, 5:30 AM.
Here is the full talk in case you missed it this morning.
Thanks for joining in today's meditation on removing the six enemies of the soul, and a prayer to restore our soul (Psalm 23) from the damage inflicted by those six enemies.
The East Coast morning meditation will now be weekdays-only, since there have been very low numbers for Sunday mornings. I myself would like to sleep in after a late night with local collective on Saturdays, so let's attend the West Coast morning meditations on the weekends at 8:30am Eastern Time (US/Canada). 5:30 am meditations will continue for East Coast on weekdays. JSM!
You can certainly meditate with any of the recordings of the morning meditations at the video archive collections for east coast morning meditation recordings or west coast morning meditation recordings pages.
LiXRhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17672677133478360310noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2410404392854115759.post-39242159309695589922011-11-25T07:59:00.001-05:002011-11-25T08:20:22.681-05:00Give priority to the subtle body - Kabir

Knowledge that makes us clever, delights the mind and makes us arrogant is impressive. Knowledge that brings true humility, grace and permanence is indeed pure knowledge.

Today we shared a meditation and an ancient song. Thanks to Pushpa who meditates with us online, deeper meanings and messages were uncovered, that relate to our subtle system.

The meditation was simply to experience the bliss of the word 'Nirmala'

Now, Nirmala, you'll be all called as Nirmalites. Means the ones who have been enlightened by Nirmala. It goes light, the word light goes very well with you people because you are enlightened. Others are just lights without any flame. So, this is Nirmalites, means the ones who are being enlightened by Nirmala. - 1985-0112: Talk before Puja, Mumbai

The bhajan involves Kabir-das advising seekers of truth to take more care of their subtle body, giving it priority over the gross body. The subtle body needs attention and awareness. He talks of the chakras, the 10 gurus within us and the main channels of the subtle system. But he laments the ruination of the subtle system by those who call themselves holy men, religious leaders and such. The way he recommends we 'wear' our subtle body and awareness is 'just the way we were granted it'. i.e. one meaning is that we keep it the way it was at birth - pure. Another meaning could be, we simply witness our subtle system the way it is being kept by the highest force.

Here are the words and translation line by line:

Oh it is subtle, the one you wear all day, is subtle! It purifies when washed in the name of GodContainer of the eight lotusesBinding the 5 elements with the ropes of the three channels.Built on the 10 foundations of the guru, by the guru SaiThe threads have been pressed to get a tight weave. When worn by the so-called holy men,That subtle cloth is surely soiled.I Kabir, wear it with great care and awareness, witnessing it,

Not interfering with the way the Lord chooses to keep it for me.

One is to disbelieve in their existence. The other is to believe, and to feel an excessive and unhealthy interest in them."

The talk we meditated upon this morning addressed negativities openly affecting seekers at the time. The subtle negativity discussed has been affecting humans since the dawn of time. The best option the six enemies have is not to fight us but make us forget they exist, making their task easier.
Did you think of a few things?

Now think, what could be some basic spiritual rights, rights bestowed upon us as human beings? Things that no one can or should stop us from achieving? The qualification being simply, our human birth? This morning's meditation covered those basic human spiritual rights aspects that are granted to us by the grace of Shri Mataji, through self-realization:
Today began the Spring Navratri Meditations at the East Coast 5.30AM online meditations section of the Live Online Meditations Community for established Sahaja Yogis. Listening to Rod Stewart, of all people, sing "People Get Ready, The Train is Coming" gave chills and a great enjoyment of the train metaphor. In the eastern spiritual tradition of sahaja yoga, Kishore Chaturvedi introduced a piece of modern folk music, that also rides the train metaphor.

The lyrics are simple, yet deep. For instance, in one stanza, allusions are made to checked baggage, which is out of site for the passenger of life, but should not be forgetten to be pick it up at baggage claim at the end of the journey. Similarly, those who resort to guilt, rather than self correction, store their bad karma baggage by checking it out of sight in the left part of the vishuddhi chakra (left shoulder/throat junction). But guilt will come back and bite the spiritual seeker, unless it is faced and gotten rid of, along your journey by self-correction.

Here is a snippet of this delightful song, we got singing at a meditaiton gathering in Pittsburgh. Excuse the missed notes and beats... this spontaneous rendering, with interludes from memory are not studio quality, but heartwarming.
After the meditation we listened to "Kundalini Chadi Badhi Jaye", an original qawwali from Rajiv Bagadadhe and Pune Collectivity, which conveys the journey through the chakras in the manner of the sufis. Original songs by Sahaja Yoga artistes were instrumental in many of us youngsters to understand the important concepts of attaining yoga in the sahaja manner - and these compositions acted to convey the abtract concepts of surrender and instrospection in a manner no discussion or question/answer could.LiXRhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17672677133478360310noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2410404392854115759.post-24767099966621418132010-12-07T09:25:00.003-05:002010-12-07T09:45:54.536-05:00Tuesday Morning East Coast Online Meditation :: Dec 06 2010Today in the morning we played two songs for the meditation from the Nirakara Puja CD by Bagadade Bhaiya from Pune, available on the Sahaja Store:
Partially due to the need to restart the computer and partially because of snoozing the alarm a couple more times than necessary. No more sleeping at 1am! Thanksgiving weekend has been quite challenging -- sleeping late has been inevitable. But we managed to hold most meditations with greater gusto. Even when in Chicago on Monday morning, reaching quite late in the night and being up and ready in the morning. Collective attention helps overcome the lethargy to get up and soak up the morning rays of the Divine.

This morning we began with Vandana Trayee, a 3-in-1 prayer to Shri Ganesha, Shri Saraswari and Shri Adi Guru. It was beautiful. There was absolutely no guided portion as the vibrations were tremendous. Sahaja Yogis were already in meditation for 20 minutes when the broadcast started. Here is the prayer someone put on youtube for your enjoyment...

The morning alarm was on "mute" and I ended up getting up late --- but there were 20 connections probably meditating on their own already. Good on them. But the vibrations were instantaneous and intense. It was mostly silent with no guided portion. Some days, its better like this.

Tomorrow, two wake up alarms as usual. Cannot risk setting up just one alarm :)LiXRhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17672677133478360310noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2410404392854115759.post-46120542432894263302010-11-23T14:01:00.003-05:002010-11-23T14:06:53.312-05:00Monday Night - Weekly Online Meditation for East Coast: 1982 Yogeshwara Puja Talk

The meditation last night was as usual, with a surprising twist at the end. We do know that the focus in North America is on the establishment of boundaries of behavior within collectives, an essential part of preventing chaos in any large sized organization, especially one which has no entry barriers.

The talk which came up spontaneously was a 1982 gem, on Yogeshwara which explains the definition of being in a state of yoga quite well: When you are in yoga - you are in perfect detached state. You can be eating, drinking and doing, yet your spirit is not "involved". e.g. Eating, but your attention is in yoga with your spirit. So your attention is not occupied by the taste or sensations of eating. The conversation then turned to limitations to any extreme behaviour, called "maryadas" in sanskrit. Mother emphasized the need for avoiding self made relationships, which undermine the larger vision of Sahaja Yoga, as given by Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi
